daisy lane christmas parade

The Daisy Lane Christmas Parade was conceived of in 1953 by Gertrude Whittle, who originally worked with the Long Beach City Council and Council of Churches to decorate a strip of grass in Wrigley that was once a stretch of the Pacific Electric Railway System, called The Daisy Greenbelt. Today the parade is organized in collaboration between the Seventh District, WANA, and Maria Norvell, the “Mother of Christmas Tree Lane”.
