The Daisy Lane Christmas Parade was conceived of in 1953 by Gertrude Whittle, who originally worked with the Long Beach City Council and Council of Churches to decorate a strip of grass in Wrigley that was once a stretch of the Pacific Electric Railway System, called The Daisy Greenbelt. Today the parade is organized in collaboration between the Seventh District, WANA, and Maria Norvell, the “Mother of Christmas Tree Lane”.

In 2019, Wrigley resident Bill White cooked up an idea to host a pie baking contest in his backyard for a small group of neighbors. In the years since then the pie baking contest has grown, bringing in more pies and more neighbors with each year. Not a cook? All who  taste-test get to judge! Since 2015 comedians and comedy fans have been gathering for The Wrigley Comedy Chew, a free monthly stand up performance that take place in a Wrigley backyard. Even better? You get a free dinner with the show! While The Comedy Show is a free event donations are welcomed and used to pay the comics and help cover the cost of the event. Grab a blanket, BYOB, and follow The Comedy Chew for news on upcoming shows!

micro gallery openings

Gallery 17 and 23 are two micro galleries located in Wrigley at 2483 Eucalyptus Ave and 2489 Eucalyptus Ave. The micro galleries were built and conceived for the neighborhood by Dave Clark and exist to make the arts more widely accessible to the community, and bring neighbors together. Shows/exhibits typically run one month with any openings on the first Friday or Saturday of the month. Follow the galleries on instagram for updates on upcoming exhibits. New exhibits will also be showcased on the events calendar.

long beach open studio tour

Long Beach Open Studios is a free, self-guided arts event that takes place annually. Participating artists open their studios to the public, showcasing their creative processes, artworks, inspirations and techniques. Visitors can get a behind-the-scenes look at the artists’ workspaces, ask questions, and purchase art directly from the creators. The Wrigley neighborhood is home to many artists, and thus offers many stops on the map!

This family-friendly December party at Wrigley’s  Cove Hotel is Wrigley Association’s most popular event!  Expect holiday cheer, community building with neighbors, potluck dinner, raffles, silent auctions, games and more!

The annual Wrigley River Run bring out runners and walkers of all abilities for a variety of races throughout the day. Participants can expect to choose from a 10 miler, 10k, 5k, and even a Toddler Trot for Wrigley’s youngest racers! All runners can expect goodie bags, commemorative t-shirts and awards once they reach the finish line. This year’s Wrigley River Run takes place on June 1, 2024. Better start training!
